Themes and settings
Change the look of the app, make your own theme, keep the app in the notification area and start it with Windows.
Choose a theme
Open the Settings (the gear in the top toolbar) and choose a theme under Appearance. These come with the app:
| Theme | Look |
|---|---|
| Panora Light | Cool grey page, white panels, a blue accent |
| Panora Dark Blue | Near-black page, slate panels, a soft blue accent |
| Panora Dark Gold | Off-black page, charcoal panels, a warm amber accent |
| Far | Navy panels, cyan text and a teal cursor, as in Far Manager |
| Light Purple, Light Red, Light Green | White pages with a coloured accent |
| Dark Warm | Charcoal-brown page with cream text |
Make your own
Under Appearance, pick a theme and choose New from this.... The theme editor opens with a copy of it. Change colours, fonts and corner radii either through the form or as text, and watch the preview follow.
A theme is kept as one DESIGN.md document. A DESIGN.md made elsewhere becomes a theme by importing it in the editor.
Panels you do not use
Kinds of panel you never need can be turned off in the Settings. They disappear from the toolbar and from the Alt+F1 / Alt+F2 menu. Files is always there.
Icon in the notification area
With Icon in the notification area on, the app puts its icon beside the clock. Closing the window then hides it, and the app goes on running: terminals keep working. Click the icon to bring the window back, or choose Exit in the icon's menu to leave the app.
While the icon is on, the app is a single one: starting it again brings up the window that is already there.
Start with the system
With Start with the system on, Windows starts the app when you sign in. If the icon in the notification area is on as well, the app starts out of sight and waits beside the clock; without it, the window opens.
The portable version is started from where its file is. If you move the file, turn this switch off and on again.
